Shôjo tsubaki: Chika gentô gekiga (1992)

Director: Hiroshi Harada

Writers:Hiroshi Harada (screenplay), Suehiro Maruo (manga)
This is a very disturbing story about a young girl called Midori who ends up in a circus, practically as a slave. Midori's father and mother die, and she is taken into a traveling carnival where she is abused (both physically and mentally) by the carnival's freakish employees. A famous magician joins the troupe, and this fellow takes a liking to Midori and begins to court her. His status as a powerful magician and his earning potential for the carnival buys Midori a bit of leniency from the other freaks, but we eventually find that the relationship between Midori and the magician is not as "innocent" as was previously thought, when the magician becomes jealous of anyone who stands between him and his love...

KNJIGA:
Thomas Bernhard - Stari majstori

The book is set in Vienna on one day around the year of its publication, 1985. Reger is an 82-year-old music critic who writes pieces for the Times. For over thirty years he has sat on the same bench in front of Tintoretto's White-bearded Man in the Bordone Room of the Kunsthistorisches Museum for four or five hours of the morning of every second day. He finds this environment the one in which he can do his best thinking. He is aided in this habit by the gallery attendant Irrsigler, who prevents other visitors from using the bench when Reger requires it.

Sebastian O - Morrison/Yeowell

An early example of what became known as steampunk, Sebastian O tells the story of a young flamboyant assassin in an alternate history, technologically advanced Victorian era London and his attempts to track down whoever condemned him to prison for his moral crimes and transgressive literature.Trained as an assassin, the world-traveling Sebastian belongs to the Club de Paradis Artificiel, which included the lesbian George, the pederast Abbe, and Sebastian's current nemesis, Lord Theo Lavender. While certainly morally unsound (he shoots a police officer in cold blood and has his butler feed it to cats) Sebastian is nonetheless a sympathetic character as he tracks down the whereabouts of Lavender, who betrayed him and had Sebastian locked up in Bedlam for offending Victorian morals.

"Rank Xerox" was first published in 1978 in Cannibale magazine and later, as "Ranxerox", in Frigidaire magazine (1980). This begins to make sense for him when he finds himself on the distant planet Tralfamadore and the aliens lay it all out for him. Billie finally realizes that in order for him to survive even to his death, he must concentrate on the good things and ignore the bad in life. The Cathedral (Polish: Katedra) is the title of a science fiction short story by Jacek Dukaj, winner of the Janusz A. Zajdel Award in 2000; and of a 2002 short animated movie by Tomasz Bagiński, based on the story. The film was nominated in 2002 for the Academy Award for Animated Short Film for the 75th Academy Awards. The movie won the title of Best Animated Short at Siggraph 2002 in San Antonio as well as several other awards.

The movie, made in 3ds max, focuses on a man who visits a mystical, organic building that looks like a medieval cathedral. As he walks through the immense structure, the light from his torch falls upon the pillars, revealing human faces. The viewer later realises that the faces are still alive, as several smile and open their eyes as the man walks past them. The building's nature is partially unveiled at sunrise as the blinding light enchants the visitor and causes organic branch-like structures to burst from his chest. These protrusions then become another set of pillars in the building.

Much of Current 93’s early work was similar to late 1970s and early 1980s industrial music: abrasive tape loops, droning synthesizer noises and Tibet’s distorted, ranting vocals. Later works found Tibet mostly casting off such trappings in favor of a more organic sound, labeled by some as “apocalyptic folk”, occasionally featuring his sinister nursery rhyme-influenced singing and primarily acoustic folk-styled music.

Mihail Bulgakov - Zapisi mladog lekara

Bulgakov wrote these short stories between 1924 and 1927, when he was fast making a name for himself. The stories here are utterly surprising: raw, realistic reworkings of his experiences as a 24 year-old doctor in remote north-west Russia, where he was put in charge of a small hospital and left to get on with it. Isolation is a constant theme in these stories: the distance from civilised society weighs heavily. Alone at night in his study, with only his oil lamp for comfort, he reflects: "The midnight express to Moscow rushes moaning past and does not even stop... The nearest street lamps are 32 miles away in the district town.''

KNJIGA:

Heart of a Dog , a novel by is a biting satire of the New Soviet man written in 1925 at the height of the NEP period, when Communism appeared to be weakening in the Soviet Union. However, its publication was initially prohibited in Russia, and it was officially released in the country only in 1987. It is "one of novelist Mikhail Bulgakov's most beloved stories" featuring a stray dog "named Sharik who takes human form as a slovenly proletarian." The novel has become a cultural phenomenon in Russia, known and discussed by people "from schoolchildren to politicians." It has become a subject of critical argument, was filmed in both Russian and Italian-language versions, and adapted in English as a play and an opera.
