Suehiro Maruo - Mr. Arashi's Amazing Freak Show

Mr. Arashi's Amazing Freak Show falls within the grotesque manga genere of modern Japanese comics, and should not be read by those of weak heart, stomach, or wit. The story follows the main character, Midori, on her unfortunate side-show life, filled with laborous days, dangerous nights, and dark twists of reality. Maruo's compelling, complex imagery is unparalelled by satyrical and ironic storytelling mixed with poetic nuances.

The opening story is called "Das Kabinett Des Dr. Caligari" or in English "The Cabinet Of Dr. Caligari". It's worthwhile to mention that this is actually an tribute to a German silent expressionist film from the late 20s that went by the same way.

Suehiro Maruo - 28 Scenes Of Murder (Artbook)

Maruo Suehiro (丸尾末広), born January 28, 1956 in Nagasaki, Japan, is a Japanese manga artist, illustrator, and painter. Many of Maruo's illustrations depict graphic sex and violence and are therefore referred to as contemporary muzan-e (a subset of Japanese ukiyo-e depicting violence or other atrocities.) Maruo himself featured in a 1988 book on the subject with fellow artist Kazuichi Hanawa entitled Bloody Ukiyo-e , presenting their own contemporary works alongside the traditional prints of Yoshitoshi and Yoshiku. Maruo's nightmarish manga fall into the Japanese category of "erotic grotesque" (エログロ; "ero-guro").

SUEHIRO MARUO - GICHI GICHI KUN

Gichi Gichi Kun is an episodic story about a boy named Gichi Gichi. He's in elementary school and apart from his weird looks and out of place apparel he also has super powers. He calls them "secret techniques" for some reason. Probably alluding to that he's from China. Surprisingly for a Maruo work he actually tries to do good with those superpowers. So what you really get here is some kind of twisted parody of school manga cliches.
